Deconstructed: An Irish Classic

Oh, shepherd’s pie. It conjures thoughts of cozy dinners and comfort food. It’s warm. It’s hearty. And at Muldoon’s Irish Pub in Newport Beach, it’s been a mainstay on the menu since opening day back in 1974. It’s also among the most popular of all the pub’s offerings. Chef Dan Cherri cooks up between 20 and 25 orders daily. “As the story goes,” notes Cherri, “this was a recipe passed down by the original owner’s great-great-grandmother back in Dublin.”
